Galveston fishing report

Jan..2005WEST GALVESTON BAY --The water clarity is getting gin clear in West Bay. There is good numbers of trout on the north end of the bay. Good results are on live shrimp and artificial in the chanteuse color. Other good colors combinations include red/white and red shad. Concentrate on drop offs around the oyster beds. Do not forget the deep beds in front of Greens Cut. The areas south of Confederate Reef and behind South Deer Island are starting to produce some nice fish. With the oncoming cold fronts of late Jan. and Feb. the fish will pull back into the deep guts and channels. The best times are on the incoming tides and during stable times between fronts. Good Luck.
